Creative Journals in a Bottle
What takes place in the minds and hearts of teenagers when at the age of 16/18 they are getting ready to become adults?
What are the challenges that they have to face in order to become an adult, that is being autonomous, self-confident, responsible, able to think outside the box and to learn by experience, kind, optimist and with no fear to admit when you are wrong?
How can educators, both parents and teachers, support them in their journey to adulthood?
In the following chapters you will be able to see a number of creative experiences proposed to teenage students in order to let them reflect on themselves and express some feelings they have inside and that they generally keep for themselves. At home, not many teenagers open up to their parents, telling them about their fears, their deep desires and some of their problems. When they are at school, it is even more unusual for them to have the right situation that allows them to share their inner feelings with others.

Why this book
When we are not happy for the behaviours of teenagers, the most common approach is to tell them, with our authoritative voice, “Don’t do this”. “Do that!”
When we try to talk to our inner self and persuade it not to do something, generally it happens the opposite: the idea or tendency is reinforced, because we are giving to that a lot of extra energy, even if we think it is to remove it.
A better way to deal with tendencies that we consider not the best for us, is to find and offer to our inner self possible alternatives.
In our digital world, where our multisensorial being is reduced to a more limited and conditioned one, to discover our human potential through a more inclusive approach is a way to improve our society, our lives and the ones of those who are dear to us.
We hope that this book might be an inspiration for many of us and help us find more creative ways to deal with teenagers.

As a parent of a teenager, I found “Creative Journals in a Bottle” to be an invaluable resource. Roberto Cuccu’s approach to education goes beyond the conventional methods and taps into the creative potential of teenagers. The activities are designed to help them think outside the box, reflect on their experiences, and develop a stronger sense of self. My son, who usually struggles with expressing his emotions, found the journal activities particularly helpful in understanding and articulating his feelings. This book has not only helped him academically but also personally, and I am truly grateful for the positive impact it has had on his life.

Roberto Cuccu’s “Creative Journals in a Bottle” is a breath of fresh air in the realm of educational resources. The book is filled with innovative, out-of-the-box activities that encourage teenagers to explore their identities and connect with their emotions. As a high school teacher, I’ve incorporated several of these activities into my classroom, and the results have been remarkable. Students who were previously disengaged or reluctant to participate have become more involved, and their creative output has been nothing short of inspiring. This book is an excellent tool for anyone looking to foster creativity, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence in young people.
